THE HOME DEPOT
Working for The Home Depot, I used all of my creative skills (which I loved!) and learned a few more. While 90% of my role was copywriting for radio, video, social media, and more, the other 10% of my job included graphic design, editing, some producing, and even a little voiceover work!

SHOWING COOPED-UP DOERS
HOW WE DO
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic – during which minorities had been hit hardest – The Home Depot needed a way to reach and reassure the African American community.
I came up with How We Do, a platform to share experiences and solutions for staying safe while celebrating the pride prevalent in the Black community.
Our team developed a campaign of how-to videos led by Black Doer influencers, inspiring our community to transform their homes into havens.

THE HOME DEPOT
ON THE RADIO
One of the very first things I worked on for The Home Depot was radio. Not only did I write scripts, I produced some of my work, as well! Learning the ins and outs of radio, being in the studio, working with audio engineers – it was one of my favorite roles.
All told, I wrote about 30 spots for a variety of promotions, including live reads for Willie Moore, Jr., which were featured on urban stations.
AS SEEN ON SOCIAL
I also wrote copy for original and media partnership content, like social posts, digital ads, and lower thirds for interior designer Nikki Chu and her Aspire TV show Unboxed.
