Mindpower had given North Carolina's Cary Academy a brand-new brand platform grounded in curiosity. As part of the complete identity overhaul, CA wanted to revamp its campus magazine.
Our update started with a new name. My thought: Why not just a giant question mark à la Prince? The openminded CA was totally on board!

LAUNCHING ISSUE #1
I wrote and edited short community news pieces as well as the feature: An article about students embarking on semester-long programs that change their world views.
My interviews with key voices (impressively eloquent students, alumni, Academy faculty, etc.) resulted in an insightful look into how these programs have a lasting impact.
ONTO ISSUE #2
My favorite! This time, I wrote two features: One about putting on The Lion King Jr. production. The second was a profile of an alumna who runs a tour company in Patagonia. She led a group of CA families and faculty on a hiking trip through the region.
Between the gorgeous photography and hearing about the experience, I was inspired. And vowed to one day make it down to Chile myself!
LAST UP, ISSUE #3
We'd found our groove! Along with the community updates, I wrote a piece on how the high schoolers were getting their first tastes of potential careers. And an alumna spotlight about a World Health Organization officer destigmatizing sexual health.
After learning about her travel and research – and even her background in improv – I was really compelled by her and her mission.
